I.. disagree.

There are plenty of unbanned books which are so boring, illwritten, and have subjects which are simply so boring that they should have never been written.

A book is good on it's own merit. Whether it's banned or not. A book shouldn't be read only because it's banned.

But don't let a ban stop you either. There are many good books which others have felt should have been banned for very little reason. Just learn about the ban, read WHY it was banned, and then make a choice yourself whether the book interests you.

There is just as much danger of avoiding something because it's taboo, as there is going out and purposefully going after something just BECAUSE it's taboo.
